An even number is an integer which is “equally divisible” by two.

This means that if the integer number is divided by two, it yields no remainder. Zero is an even number because zero divided by two equals zero.

The term “integers” refers to all whole and negative numbers, including zero.

An even number multiplied by any number, or raised to any power, results in another even number.
